Fuel surcharge amendment

The fuel surcharge on travel between Japan and New Zealand will remain unchanged from the amendment that was introduced in July 2008.

Terms of application

Fuel surcharge: Fuel surcharge of JPY24,000 and an insurance surcharge of JPY300 per flight sector will be added to the fares between Japan and New Zealand. The combined amount of these surcharges will be shown on the ticket as the tax code YQ.
Effective from: 1 October 2008
Effective until: 31 December 2008
(Air New Zealand will apply for a revision to the fuel surcharge for tickets issued after 1 January 2009.)
Conditions: Same amount of the surcharge will be applied to adults, children and infants. The surcharge is also applied to the reward tickets. In case of the tickets are required to be refunded, the cancellation fee is not applied to the surcharge.


Conditions of revision

Air New Zealand will review Singapore Kerosene jet fuel price on every May, August, November and February, and apply to the governments for the revision of the surcharge of each period shown in Table 1 when the average price of the recent 3 consecutive months will be lower than the prices shown in Table 2. When this average price goes lower than USD50 per 1 barrel, we will remove the fuel surcharge.
